Birmingham Half Marathon 2016

ANDY VERNON (clocking 63.32 mins) won the Great Birmingham Run half marathon with club mate Chris Thompson in a second place (63.54 mins) to deny him back-to-back wins.

It was an Aldershot Farnham and District AC one-two finish, with Belgian Koen Naert finished third in 64.24 mins.

Kenyan born Dutchwoman Elizeba Cherono took the victory in the women’s race, easing home in 73.42 to finish more than a minute ahead of Romania’s Madelina Florea who clocked 74.45 and Briton Lauden Deadman in 74.54.
