Ice Hockey: Solihull Barons 2 vs 3 Sheffield Steeldogs

Barons played second placed team in a thoroughly entertaining game which saw the lead change couple of times. Steeldogs opened their account with Milan Kolena scoring off the rebound from Barons goalie’s just after the face-off. From then on, both side played fast and furious ice hockey with Barons hitting steel post of the opposition team.

The second period Barons came out with real intent. Phil Mulcahy scored from a close distance in the second minute. Home side applied pressure throughout rest of the period and got just reward when Ed Eaton fired in Steeldogs net on the buzzer. Score stood at 2-1 to Barons.

Third period saw two quick goals at the beginning by Milan Kolena once again to claim his hattrick. Overall, Barons conceded three penalties to one of Steeldogs which probably made the difference in the outcome of the game.
