Basketball: Women’s BBL Cup Final: Nottingham Wildcats 70 vs Caledonia Pride 66

In a closely contested second edition of WBBL Final basketball game East Midlands side edged out Caledonia Pride. For the Pride it was first participation in WBBL Final and got within four points of winning. The game was very even in the first and the last quarter, but the lead changed hands during the second and third quarter. Both side entertained the record crowd of over five thousand at Arena Birmingham and many more at home who watched it on television.

Wildcat No.12 Ashley Harris hit 19 points to lead Nottingham’s scoring and No.15 Alyesha Lovett scored 18, including the two free throws that decided an exciting final. For Caledonia No.43 Tricia Oakes netted 16 points. Ashley Harris was named MVP of the final.
