Ice Hockey: Solihull Barons 7 vs Billingham Stars 4

Solihull Barons opened their account by Luke Brittle scoring 5 minutes into the game in a game against Billingham Stars. Phil Mulcahy put the home side two goals up by firing the puck in the back of the net. Visitors replied by scoring one of their own however Adam Brittle restored the two-goal lead just before the hooter went off in the first period.

The game was more evenly matched in the second period. No goals until last few seconds, Chris Sykes deflecting the puck off Artur Ozols to bring Billingham closer to Barons score line.

The final period saw flurry of goals with four scored by Barons and two by the visiting team. Barons Man of the Match Stephen Heape. Home side will be relived to keep their nose in front throughout the game and ilk out a comfortable win.

The Barons have a difficult fixture away on Saturday against league leaders and local rivals the Telford Tigers. Next home game is on Saturday 13th January when it will be the Tigers turn to visit Solihull. Face-off 5:00pm.
